We showcased both metalwork and woodwork, bringing together local makers to pass on a passion for craftsmanship. Demonstrations, talks and workshops took place, involving children and adults. We touched on some of the different applications of these hugely varied art-forms and questions were welcomed. His move back to Wales inspired him to work increasingly in wood and in 2014 launched his Making Little furniture range. His most recent project has been the successful completion of a timber frame extension to their house using all natural materials and local workers. In 2016 he was granted an Exceptional Talent visa to explore his silversmith practice and has since settled on the Peninsula. He has exhibited in several museums and galleries including Goldsmiths Company in London and accepts private commissions. As a bespoke wedding ring designer-maker and experienced lecturer she holds regular workshops on the Llyn Peninsula, which has been home since 2016. Her latest collection featuring advanced engraving techniques is available online. Commissioned for wide-ranging projects such as furniture for Channel 4's Big Brother house and customised surfboards; his passion for the natural environment combined with making now sees him creating bespoke wooden cabins and outdoor furniture. He started Wood Revival Designs with a particular interest in handcrafting unique pieces of furniture from reclaimed wood. Whether fishing, climbing, surfing or working with wood, Urien's guiding light is to live harmoniously with his environment. His passion led him to boat restoration and is now incorporating smaller, domestic pieces. He is passionate about wildlife and trees - especially indigenous species - and this respect is evident in his work, which spans from furniture to large scale timber structures. Specifically, he recalls how their tools were treated like special instruments, each with their own purpose. Now a professional silversmith and blacksmith Kurt feels a strong connection to the tools he makes to produce his silverware viewing them as inextricably linked. Originally from NW England, moving to Pen Llyn has offered Nichola the physical and mental space to explore her craft. Simple, primitive methods allow her to build strong, structural forms that hold the illusion of a thrown pot but on closer inspection show slight imperfections, her comment on modern life. Lisa is inspired by the wild beauty of Pen Llyn and the high quality of British fabrics. She incorporates these into her work through fabric choice and usability, she leaves her mark when reviving old cherished pieces as much as when designing a new item. We held even more workshops, welcomed back familiar faces and made new friends as we helped people to get crafting. We saw the <near> perfect bow+arrow be constructed and watched as delicate wild flowers were deftly pressed into metal pendants. Wooden spatulas were laboured over and whittled away, as sturdy stools were crafted and taken to new homes. Clay animals, pots and all manner of ceramics were created under the guidance of our professional potter. And lovely colourful paintings were made and then displayed around the marquee.
