<image:caption>Making Little Craft seeks to spread the desire to use your hands, make and craft. We are a collective of makers, artists, crafts-people and friends all with a passion to encourage others to get involved. Through yearly events we hope to pass on this passion and show that as well as being a fulfilling hobby, craft can also be a profession.</image:caption>

<image:title>2017 - Demonstrations, Workshops, Talks</image:title>
<image:caption>The summer of 2017 saw our first weekend-long craft event take place and by all accounts - it was a success. We showcased both metalwork and woodwork, bringing together local makers to pass on a passion for craftsmanship. Demonstrations, talks and workshops took place, involving children and adults. We loved talking, showing, making and breathing crafts and we thank everyone that was involved.</image:caption>

<image:title>2017 - DEMONSTRATIONS</image:title>
<image:caption>Short, free sessions offering insight in to the techniques used within metal- and wood-work. Professional makers demonstrated the different techniques involved in making a silver bowl, how best to sharpen domestic knives and how a simple wooden stool is crafted.</image:caption>

<image:title>2017 - Workshops</image:title>
<image:caption>Make a silver ring, carve a wooden spoon, press flowers in to metal pendants and create your own Bow + Arrow. Workshops ran across both days and were suitable for adults and children of 4years+ with prices ranging from £10-£30.</image:caption>

<image:title>2017 - TALKS</image:title>
<image:caption>Informal talks about silver and working with wood. We touched on some of the different applications of these hugely varied art-forms and questions were welcomed. Saturdays' activities wrapped-up with a relaxed talk from one of the founders of Making Little Craft about their motivations, aims and hopes for this new event.</image:caption>

<image:title>2017 - AND ALSO</image:title>
<image:caption>There was mud, films, cakes and lovely things to buy. A free Mud Kitchen and non-stop films in our makeshift cinema provided additional entertainment - and shelter from the occasional rain! Beautiful pieces were available to buy from our talented makers and tasty snacks were on offer by our neighbour Cwt Tatws.</image:caption>

Originally from NW England, moving to Pen Llyn has offered Nichola the physical and mental space to explore her craft. Simple, primitive methods allow her to build strong, structural forms that hold the illusion of a thrown pot but on closer inspection show slight imperfections, her comment on modern life. <image:caption>Making Little Craft enjoyed a wonderful three days overlooking Porth Towyn in August 2019. We held even more workshops, welcomed back familiar faces and made new friends as we helped people to get crafting. We saw the <near> perfect bow+arrow be constructed and watched as delicate wild flowers were deftly pressed into metal pendants. Wooden spatulas were laboured over and whittled away, as sturdy stools were crafted and taken to new homes. Beautiful silver rings and bangles were made to adorn their new makers and perhaps the star of the show - the clay animal zoo - showed just how creative young minds are.</image:caption>
